The Power of Will

Contributed by: Arham Younus Khan ^_^

Ever wondered why there are some things which others can do and you cannot? Or things which you master while others don’t? A few days ago, I came across a joke which turned out to be more interesting rather than funny.

Some may call it a racist joke but the fact is whoever has a will to succeed, eventually does. Hence the proverb ‘where there is a will, there is a way’ stands perfectly true. However many people misinterpret this proverb and assume that if you intend to achieve something you will definitely go on to achieve it and what they fail to keep in mind is there is a thick line between intention and will. Will doesn’t just involve the thought process, it involves an even more significant aspect too i.e. action. Without actions, without hard work will is just a way of achieving self-satisfaction, nothing more.
Majority of us are aware of famous personalities who have reached ultimate heights of success with only sheer determination and tireless hard work, such as Bill Gates, Lionel Messi, Thomas Edison and the list goes on. All of them had one thing in common; they weren’t let down by circumstance and continued working to achieve their aims despite hard times. Yes, life kept giving them lemons, and they kept making lemonade!

My personal experiences prove that if you rule out the possibility of being bobbed down by circumstances, new ways keep springing up. And I’m pretty sure the same happens with almost everyone. What we are today is quite truly a reflection of what we intended and worked to be yesterday.
