Zabmun VI. 1200 Delegates. 360 Institutions. 4 days of diplomacy, argumentation, planning and what not. When the teams were announced, the aim was clear. They were going to win and rule Zabmun, however little could the Debate Heads have imagined that this year was theirs. This year, Pafians worked harder than ever, debated better than ever and results were produced.
*drum roll*
2nd BEST DELEGATION at the biggest Mun in Karachi. :') Losing out by a mere 5 points. However, we ensured that we wont be taken lightly from this point on.
Such a big accomplishment wouldn't have been possible without a team effort. Let us have a look at the individual performances,
Usman Baig: Best Delegate UNSC
During the process, Baigu managed to beat the best debaters around the city. Osman Ansari couldnt have summed it up in a better way when he said, "If there would have one best delegate, it would have gone to Usman." Baigu aap love ho. ^_^
Rumael Jawed: Best Delegate HGA
3 MUNs, 3 Best Delegates. This man just does not lose. Rumael was amongst the elite ones about whose award we were all sure about. Well done Sir.
Saad Alvi: Best Delegate UNHRC
For someone who hated Humanitarian committees in the first place, Saad has come a long way. In-fact it wouldn't be a exaggeration if he was called Mr Human Rights. He took control from the beginning and maintained it all along. Proud of you Saad. :D
Hammad Akmal and Muhammad Waseem Best Delegates DISEC
The surprise package. To be honest, we did not expect this award. However, this pair proved every one wrong. In a committee of 200 delegates, the fact that they had the support of more than 60% goes a long way in reflecting their performance. To top it all, it was Hammad's 1st Mun. Sirs, massive respect for you.
AbdulSattar- Best Delegate IAEA
For someone who has hated by the entire committee, it was quite a surprise that our President got an outstanding diplomacy award. However, he did work hard and we congratulate him for his award.
Syeda Ramsha Wasti - Best Delegate PNSC
Although an ex-Pafian now, many couldn't have differentiated between an alumna and current students as she cheered us on and we are now returning the favor. Wasti, it was good to have you on our team and congratulations on such a prestigious award.
Yasir Thara and Waleed Riaz Honorable Mention SOCHUM
Uniting the team, motivating us and leading us all, this pair was indeed the soul of our team. For our team, they remain Best Delegates and we shall continue to treat them according to it. You sirs, made us respect you even more. Best of luck for future MUNs.
Syeda Amna Zubia Honourable Mention SPECPOL
This lady was so much more worried about others than herself. Helping in research, listening to us, guiding, motivating and supporting all of us. Indeed she lost an award, but won so many hearts.
Mohammad Shaharyar Honorable Mention UNFCCC
Representing Paf Chapter for the very 1st time, he took everything calmly and his hard work was awarded by his award. Well done Shaharyar.
Waleed Bin Khalid Honorable Mention UNFCCC
Another one from A1s who raise the Pafian flag high. Representing our team C, he was not to be intimidated and was determined to make a point. Congratulations Waleed.
Mohammad Rohan Honorable Mention HGA
Praising our A1s is getting so cliched. :p Well they did work very hard. Sir, you have done a marvelous job and shown us a debating potential that we hope continues to grow.
Nida Mehmood and Umme-Hani Honorable Mention SOCHUM
Another surprise package. They registered privately, reflecting how down the pecking order did we consider them to lie. However, they were not to be scared off. In a committee of 250, they marked their presence and brought home another award.
That wraps up the award ceremony. ^_^ However, there is 1 man without whom this could never have been possible. Brought in as a trainer only 2 months ago, he has worked wonders. Always an inbox away, regardless of the hour. Holding sessions, forcing us to come, making us work harder than ever. During the conference, he kept us all glued together, motivated us and when the results came out he was happier than all of us. The tears of joy that slipped were proof for his dedication. Sir, we all bow down our heads in respect.
Yes we are talking about our teacher, our mentor, Mr YELMAZ MUJTABA. ^_^ *Massive Respect*
