LEGALITY

Yeah, I do realize that he looks older than eighteen. But you get the point, right? :D

Overrated:

*Run around like a crazy monkey* 

*Do the banghra* 

*Jump around with excitement*

It’s finally here! The year you officially become an adult, the year in which you turn 18!

You cannot get over the immense feeling of coolness that sweeps through you when you realize you have survived 18 years in this world. This is it, the year everything changes for you. You will finally start looking and acting mature, the adults will finally start treating you as one of them. Yup, that’s exactly how I felt before my birthday too. So, you can imagine my shock when the only thing I sensed was a wave of sadness, making its way to my supposedly big day. That’s when you realize the whole ‘Legal 18th birthday nonsense’ is far too overrated.

Come to think of it, nothing REALLY changes after you turn 18, except maybe that you’re become eligible to get your NADRA card and driver’s license, not like you never drove your car around before, right? And if you didn't drive before, there isn't really a chance that you will start anytime soon. So, after realizing the sad truth in the matter, I came up with a couple of reasons why it was illegal for me to be legal. (See what I did there? :p) 

1. Whenever things do not go my way, I still do the nagging and the puppy-dog-face routine like I used to do when I was ten. Maybe another eight years and I will learn how to stop.

2. I sing the Teletubbies’ theme song whenever given the opportunity, of course until I realize I am not a ten year old anymore, but that comprehension usually takes a while.

3. Whenever Barney is mentioned, for a second my thoughts go to the big purple dinosaur before returning to the How I Met Your Mother star.

4. I have to share my ice-cream with half of my face each and every time. It is never enough to just eat the ice cream; there should be some evidence to annoy people who weren't given a share.

5. I get excited about stuff like jelly although I should have gotten over them when I was eight, but you can’t blame me if they keep making jellies in all those interesting shapes. (Fun Fact, the teeth jelly is the cool-i-est!)

6. According to popular T.V shows I should have fallen in love three times by now, but so far? Nothing. I guess they should make a ‘Forever Alone’ relationship status on Facebook now. 

7. I always go ‘ELEMENOPEE’ when the ABC is being sung, just like my baby cousin does. -.-

8. Whenever I see an empty wheelchair I cannot stop myself from trying it, pretending to be handicapped.

9. I do not go to the doctor’s office alone, and when I am there, I forget how to speak and turn to my mom to explain to the kind sir what exactly is wrong with me.

10. Personal mission whenever I see a balloon: Do not let that thing touch the ground!

11. You'll find me searching for the cereal with the coolest toy, and then getting excited when the box is opened. Realizing the toy is a puzzle, spending hours trying to make the toy and finally getting frustrated when the final creation looks nothing like the picture on the box.

12. I still don’t understand why people find the Happy Meal at McDonalds embarrassing. The box is pretty cool with all the games on it and the gift is the best thing ever! So next time you see me with one of those meals, don’t judge..

Well, maybe it’s the 21st birthday they all talked about. Yup, I will definitely be mature then!
